But what if you found an opportunity with already well-established , high-demand products and a business that was inexpensive to own? You may have found a dream come true. And, you probably found Color Me Beautiful.

One go-getter realizing her potential is Shirley Froemming, a successful independent beauty consultant from Alexandra, VA, who chose the home-based business opportunity. "This is a blessing fo r those looking for a true ground-floor opportunity," says Froemming, who has not only rapidly moved up in the Color Me Beautiful ranks but also recently earned a Mercedes-Benz through the company.

You may remember Color Me Beautiful as the brand based on the No.1 New York Times best seller (for 12 years!) by the same name that helped women select their most flattering shades based on the colors of the seasons. At one time, one or more of Color Me Beautiful 's brands were sold in Macy's. Dillard 's. Bloomingdale's. Belk, Nordstrom and Bon-Ton. But this business approach has changed dramatically. "We recently altered our business model and shifted our focus away from department stores," says DiAntonio. "We wanted to give our customers better advice and service. We felt this could only be done through well-trained Beauty Consultants who owned their own businesses and were passionate about helping others look their best."

Cosmopolitan Nevember 2007

It's not what you say...

In the age of snappy sound bites, high fashion and office politics, it
seems more attention needs to be paid to what you wear at work.

According to research from Color Me Beautiful, 55% of the impact you
make depends on how you look and behave, 38% on how you speak and only
7% on what you actually say.

"Hotter tones are distracting, your clothes will say something about you before you have even spoken," says Cosmo's fashion editor Ms Baxter.

OSCAR WINNING BEAUTY TRICKS THAT REALLY WORK

“For better under-eye coverage choose a blue-based concealer, which helps reflect the light and make the eyes look brighter. For extra heavy dark circles try a yellow- or orange-based concealer, which neutralizes darkness beneath the eyes. If you don't have a color concealer use foundation two shades lighter under your eyes and blend, blend, blend!" - Adrien Arpel

“Color can also be used to create definition and highlight, because the
eye will travel to the spot where the color is placed. To understand
this concept, take a red pen and place a dot on a scratch piece of
paper and then take a black pen and place a dot on the same sheet. Take
a look at the sheet. What dot does your eye notice first? I bet you the
red dot. To learn more about the impact of color on your personal style

“A book by Carole Jackson, "Color Me Beautiful," assigns people a season on the basis of the color of their hair, eyes and skin tone. Even minimally fashion conscious men and women started asking "What's your season?" (a welcome variation on "What's your sign?") and picking their shirts and sweaters accordingly: "Winters" had dark hair and fair skin and gravitated to jewel colors. "Autumns" with hazel eyes and golden brown hair were steered toward colors like pumpkin, camel and olive.

Some devotees of the concept have extended that aesthetic from wardrobe to walls. Color Me Beautiful Inc., a color-consulting and cosmetics company built on the success of the book, sends out certified "environmental" experts to advise on room colors.

"If you have a particular palette that's flattering to you, it makes sense to surround yourself with those colors," says Lucinda Law, the company's marketing director."
